Esther Griesbach, 96, Fargo, ND, died July 23, 2019 at Bethany on 42nd.

Esther was born July 29, 1922 in Argusville, ND to Nils and Anna (Stangeland) Sorvaag. She grew up on the family farm. Esther attended school in Berlin Township. She graduated from Argusville High School and Dakota Business College in Fargo. She worked for several years as a bookkeeper in Fargo.

On November 14, 1953 she married Robert E. Griesbach of Hunter, ND. They made their home in Fargo. Esther was a long-time member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Fargo and served on several boards.

Esther is survived by two sons, Richard (Diane), Methuen, MA, Arlo (Donna), Powers Lake, ND; one daughter, Deanna (Clint) Magnuson, Fargo; seven grandchildren, Jamie (Chang) Hong, Matthew (Whitney) Griesbach, Meghan (Joe) Celli, Derek (fiancé Alice Yu) Magnuson, Rachel (Joel) Dimock, Jared Magnuson and Kevin Magnuson; six great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Ben and Ellinor Dimock, Alexander Hong, Bridget Griesbach and Elena Celli.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents; her sister, Olive Kolsrud; three brothers, Olaf, Sigurd and Harold; sister-in-law, Angie Sorvaag and brother-in-law, Mort Kolsrud.
