Emily ‘Emi’ Jackson moved to heaven on May 20, 2018, at the age of 97. Emily Haviland Oram Jackson was born on December 17, 1920, to Harry and Edna Oram in Fargo, North Dakota. Emi attended Fargo Public Schools, North Dakota State University, and the Minneapolis Institute of Art and Design. She was a member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority, PEO Sisterhood~ AE Chapter, Fine Arts Club, Junior League, St. Luke’s Hospital Auxiliary, YWCA and an active Gethsemane Cathedral Episcopal Church member. Emily and Byron were married in Mineral Wells, Texas, on January 9th, 1943. They were happily married for 51 years. Emi was an avid supporter of NDSU Bison football, and enjoyed playing bridge, entertaining, cooking, needlework, shopping, traveling and watching golf. Emily lived in her ‘beloved’ Fargo for 92 years, until she moved to Minneapolis to be closer to her family. She is survived by her daughter Penny Paulson of Burnsville, Minnesota, her grandchildren Betsy (Ben) Miller and Katie (Jeremy) Sweeney, and her adorable great- grandchildren Jackson, Lily, and Adeline. She was proceeded in death by her parents, and her husband, Byron. A private service will be held on Wednesday, May 30th at 1:30pm at Gethsemane Cathedral, for family and friends. She will be buried at Riverside Cemetery in Fargo. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to the Fargo Public Schools Foundation- Literacy Programs.
