E. Lorraine Gibb

E. Lorraine Gibb, 86, of Fargo, ND, died Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at Innovis Hospital, Fargo. E. Lorraine Gibb was born in Moorhead, MN, on January 11, 1923, to Floyd and Agnes (Meyers) Barnes. She graduated from Moorhead High School and worked for Internal Revenue Service and General Motors. On August 12, 1947, she married George R. Gibb at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead. They made their home in Fargo, ND, for the next 62 years. They also enjoyed their summers at Pelican Lake and winters in Palm Desert, CA. Lorraine spent many years active in the Fine Arts Club, PTA, Fargo Country Club, and the Elkettes where she was President. She also enjoyed golfing and bowling. She was a member of Artists of Ironwood at Ironwood Country Club where she created many lovely watercolor paintings. Lorraine had a degree in Interior Design and worked for Elise’s and then freelanced for a number of years. Lorraine loved her little poodle dogs: the latest, Allie Big Boy Gibb, will miss her deeply. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, George; daughters, Laurie Gibb and Cindy (Randy) Lien; and her grandson, George Perlenfein. The family wishes to thank the staff of Red River Valley Hospice and Innovis Health for helping Mom and our family with the transition. The family requests memorials be sent to Red River Valley Hospice or the charity of their choice. Funeral: Wednesday, November 25, 2009, at 1:00 PM, at First United Methodist Church, Fargo, ND. Visitation: Tuesday, November 24, 2009, from 5-7 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND. Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
