Elizabeth "Liz" R. Winjum

Elizabeth "Liz" R. Winjum, 78, of Strawberry Lake, MN, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and compassionate hospice care. She courageously battled Alzheimer's disease and other chronic illnesses, demonstrating unwavering strength and grace throughout her journey.
Born in 1947, Liz began her career serving the Aurora, Colorado Police Department, where she dedicated herself to the safety and well-being of her community. Her commitment to service continued after her marriage to Greg Winjum, which led them to Maryland and later to Germany for two years, enriching their lives with diverse experiences and lasting memories.
Known for her infectious sense of humor and boundless empathy, Liz had a remarkable ability to connect with others. She never met a stranger and made lifelong friends wherever she went. Her appreciation for caregivers was profound, often expressing gratitude by gifting hundreds of angel figurines to those who provided care to her and others, a testament to her generous spirit and recognition of kindness.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Michael Dickerson.
Liz is survived by her devoted husband, Greg Winjum; daughters, Stacy (Marcus) Wilkes and Victoria (John) Endres; sons, Mark (Angela) Warner and Bryce (Kathy) Winjum; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Linda (Russ) Dunbar; and brother, Robert (Katherine) Dickerson. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and compassion that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date. Interment will take place at Fargo National Cemetery in Harwood, North Dakota.
