Elizabeth Clark

Elizabeth “BL” Clark, 86, of Fargo, ND, passed away Thursday, December 2, 2010, at her home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. BL was born March 19, 1924, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Julian and Katharine (Ayer) Payne. BL grew up in Wisconsin, most notably Eau Claire, prior to moving to Fargo for her senior year of high school. BL graduated from Fargo Central High School in 1942. She then attended North Dakota State University where she was active in the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. BL graduated from NDSU in 1946 with a math major and a history minor. BL married Perry S. Clark on December 21, 1946. They lived together in Fargo until his death on June 30, 1999. BL and Perry raised their two children in Fargo. BL was predominately a homemaker during these years, however, she was also active in Junior League, PEO, PTA and Cotillion. Later, BL, developed a real passion for Duplicate Bridge, obtaining the level of Silver Life Master. BL was very personable and out-going. BL and Perry enjoyed traveling, the lakes and later on, Florida during the winters. BL is survived by her two children, daughter, Kathy, Fargo, ND; son, Spencer, Detroit Lakes, MN; one grandson, Kelly Clark (Renee Rawson), St. George, UT; one great-grandson, Keegan Clark; and her special friend, Paul Shea, Greenville, IL. Memorials may be sent to Hospice of the Red River Valley or the American Heart Association. Memorial Service: Tuesday, December 7, 2010, at 2:00 PM, at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 1101 17th Ave. S, Fargo. Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church. Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
