Dorothy M. Nystul, age 98, died on June 21, 2024 in Fargo.

Dorothy M. Jacobson was born April 21, 1926 in Audubon, MN to parents Helmer and Lilla (Hanson) Jacobson. After graduating from Audubon High School in 1944, she attended Detroit Lakes Business College. She then worked at the Internal Revenue Service in Fargo, and in 1964 began working with her husband at Star Oil Co. in Fargo before retiring in 1988.

On October 13, 1956, Dorothy married Adolph L. "Roy" Nystul in Audubon, and they lived in Fargo until Roy's death in 2004. Dorothy was an active member of Olivet Lutheran Church, participating in women's groups, bible studies, quilting, and volunteer work. She also volunteered at Bethany Retirement Living.

She is survived by a son, David (Jill) Nystul; a daughter, Julie (Alan) Cooper; and six grandchildren, Erik (Kaitlyn), Britta (Neil), Kell (Aliyah), and Sten Nystul, and Justin and Brianne Cooper.

Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral service in her honor on Friday, July 26 at 7:00 pm at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home in Fargo, with visitation beginning at 6:00 pm. The interment service will take place the following day, Saturday, July 27, at 11:00 am at Audubon Cemetery.
