Dorothy Mae Lahren, 98, died October 17, 2018 at Rosewood on Broadway, Fargo, ND.

Dorothy Wumkes was born April 27, 1920 at Sykeston, ND to Peter and Nora (Burgess) Wumkes. She grew up and graduated from Sykeston High School where she was valedictorian. She married Larry Lahren on May 16, 1943 in Sykeston, ND. He died February 14, 1982.

She worked in the offices at Nash Finch and Tupperware and worked as the hostess at the Fairfield Inn and the Sleep Inn. Dorothy loved gardening, watching sports and square dancing and ballroom dancing with her husband.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Janice (Arvid) Moe, Fargo, ND, Cheryl (Joe) Schmit, Murphysboro, IL; sons, Jack (Jean) Lahren, Virgina Beach, VA, Dean Lahren, Brooklyn Center, MN, and Kris (Diane) Lahren, Mosinee, WI; sister, Della Johnson, Tucson, AZ; brother, Robert Wumkes, Springhill, FL; 16 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, one sister, and one grandson.
