Donna Johansen, 82, of Centralia, WA, formerly of Fargo, died Thursday, August 12, 2010 at Providence Centralia Hospital, Centralia, Washington. Donna Mootz was born November 19, 1927 to John and Burnette Mootz in Bemidji, MN. The family eventually settled in Michigan, ND, where she graduated from high school. She married Robert Johansen on January 17, 1948. They lived in Fargo, except for a brief period in Baton Rouge, while Bob completed his doctorate. After Bob’s death on July 18, 1996, she moved to Centralia, Washington, to live with her sisters. Donna dedicated her life to her family. After raising her children, she subsequently became a generous presence in the lives of her grandchildren, entertaining them with her country music and classic movies. Her support of Bob in his position at NDSU led to her accompanying him on several global trips, sparking a love of travel which continued throughout her life. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two sisters, Marge Nelson and Delores Kozisek. She is survived by her sisters, Phyllis Scheller (Bob) and Doreen Morken (Edwin) both of Centralia, and her children, Robert, Hillsboro, OR, Anna (Bruce Klajda), Bemidji, Gail, Minneapolis, and Brian (Marsha Woodward), Fargo. She is also survived by grandchildren Jamie (Nicole) and Bryan Johansen, Michael Klajda, Kirsten Johansen, and Erika (fiance Paul Whelan), Vanessa, and James Johansen, and three great-grandchildren. Funeral: Thursday, August 19, 2010 at 2:00 PM, at Hanson Runsvold Funeral Home in Fargo. Visitation: Wednesday, August 18, 2010, from 5-7 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold. Inurnment: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND. Memorials may be directed to the Robert Johansen Harvest Bowl scholarship at NDSU.
