Donald (Don) E Loomis passed away on Saturday, August 1st, 2026 as a result of cancer at HIA Heather's House (Hospice Care) in Fargo, ND. He was surrounded by the love and care of his wife Laura and his daughter Iana.

Don was born in Moorhead, MN on January 2nd, 1952 to Elsie (Nordstrom) and Eugene Loomis. He attended school in Fargo and later received his GED. At 13, he began building model cars, both by kit and by scratch, which he continued as a hobby throughout his life. At 16, he began custom combining, then worked a full-service gas station, and later for Silverline Boats. Then he found his career as a welder, first at Steiger Tractor, then as it transitioned to Case IH New Holland, for 30+ years.

While working at Steiger Tractor, he met and married his wife Laura Roman on October 26th, 1979. They made their home in Fargo, had 5 kids and were married for 46 years. As a family, they attended First Assembly of God Church in Fargo, where he gave his life to Christ and was baptized. Because he liked working on vehicles, he helped as a mechanic on the buses used for the Children's Ministry Super Saturday. Upon retirement, he continued his hobby of model car building and turned it into a business, casting and selling model car parts. He enjoyed working on cars, woodworking, and spending time with his grandson Tosha.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Elsie and Eugene; his sisters, Mary Ellen and Deb; and his brother, Doug. He is survived by his wife, Laura; his sons, Justin and Eric; his daughters, Amanda, Iana, Angela, and Sheila; and his grandchildren, London, Noah, and Tosha.
