Donald G. Liekhus, 83, of Fargo, ND, died Sunday, January 18, 2009 at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND. Don was born on February 14, 1925 in Dickinson, ND to Bernard and Minnie (Frank) Liekhus. He grew up in Dodge, NE and Billings, MT. In 1941, he moved to Fargo where he worked as a carpenter and drove bus for the city. From 1953-1985, he drove truck for S. F. Douglas. Don drove school bus for Valley Bus of Fargo and later drove van for the Fargo Senior Commission. On October 5, 1952, Don married Florence Heck in Kulm, ND. Don is survived by his wife; sons, Terry (Cynthia), Denver, CO; Steven (Dianna), Ramsey, MN; and Robin (Renaye) Liekhus, Nampa, ID; daughters, Denise (William) Townsend, Carmel, IN, and Dawn (Michael) Cheatham, Avon, Indianapolis, IN; 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Betty. Funeral Service: 1:00 PM Saturday, January 24, 2009 at Peace Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND. Visitation: Friday, January 23, 2009 from 5-7PM at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo Prayer Service: 7:00 PM Friday, January 23, 2009 at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND.
