Diane Maxine Skjonsby was born July 4, 1936 at St. Ansgar’s Hospital in Moorhead, MN to Joseph and Mildred Skjonsby. She grew up in Christine and graduated in 1954. She briefly attended North Dakota State College of Science, in Wahpeton, ND.

Diane married Levoine “Swede” Nelson on June 22, 1957; later divorcing in 1987.

Diane was proceeded in death by her parents; brother, Lynn Skjonsby, and her grandparents. She is survived by her daughters, Lori Nelson of Fargo ND, and Julie (Larry) Burmeister, of Fergus Falls, MN; her son, Kevin (Lisa) Nelson of Davenport, ND, and three grandchildren, Matt Hilde, Katelyn Engbretson, Dustin Burmeister, and six great grandchildren.

Memorials preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley or charity of your choice.

The graveside service will be held at 2pm, October 28, 2019 at Christine Cemetery in Christine, ND. She passed away Monday October 21, 2019.
