DeVon Marie Jokstad, age 92, of Fargo, passed away on October 20, 2025 at Bethany on 42nd in Fargo, ND.
DeVon was the oldest child of Arthur H. Wilson and Bergliot Marie Wilson was born on June 17, 1933, in Perley, MN and was raised there until her family moved to Fargo. She attended Fargo Central High School and graduated in 1951. She furthered her education at Dakota Business College in Fargo ND. She was employed at several different businesses; JCPenney in Fargo, Balmer Motors, Leo Johnson Furniture, Offerdahl Marketing, H & R Block before opening her own business, Jokstad Tax Service. She belonged to the North Dakota Public Accountant Association, taught numerous tax classes, and was a past Association President.
DeVon enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, and playing her favorite card game, Wist. She loved researching her Norwegian Heritage, speaking Norwegian, and even traveled to Norway. She also belong to Nordlandslaget (Nordland Slag). She was also a member of the Son’s of Norway in Fargo.
DeVon and Cal belonged to the Foretravel Motor Coach Club and, for many years, enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. for club meetings and to spend time with all their coach friends.
DeVon is survived by her children: son, Roger Hendricks (Jeanette) of Ham Lake, MN, daughter Rose Halmrest, of Fargo, ND, son Richard Hendricks (Betty) of Sumner, WA, stepsons Carlton and Carl Jokstad, of Tracy, MN. She has seven grandchildren: Mason and Paul Hendricks, Marc, Mandy and Matthew Schroeder, and Katie and Samantha Hendricks. She has eight great children: Jencin and Evelyn Hendricks, Myles Hendricks, Kiley and Evan Schroeder, Drew and Tiana Schroeder, and Alexius Eubanks. And many great, great grandchildren.
DeVon was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Jokstad, her parents, Arthur and Bergliot Wilson, her brothers, Arthur Wilson Jr., John (Allen) Wilson, and stepson Carlyle Jokstad. DeVon will be dearly missed by family and friends.
