Dennis Eugene Jacobson, 84, Fargo, ND, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Sanford Health Palliative Care, with his family by his side.

Dennis was born in Borup, MN on March 3, 1930 to Henry and Isla (Anderson) Jacobson. After his father passed away when Dennis was in early grade school, the family moved to Fargo. He continued his education in the Fargo schools. He served in the National Guard during the time of the Korean War.

Dennis was employed at Arnold Welu Dental Laboratory for 49 years until he retired. Arnold was very close to Dennis and family, and was like a father to Dennis at times. Dennis was well known and respected in the dental community.

Dennis met the lovely Marjorie Rose Schimming at Welu and they were married on September 25, 1948. They had four children and had a wonderful life until Marjorie passed away suddenly on May 3, 1981.

Dennis retired from Welu and spent many happy times at his lake cabin with his children, grandchildren, and friends until moving to Sun City, AZ. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, dancing, and traveling with his loving friend, Donna Johnston of Sun City.

His strong faith in Jesus Christ has been his strength and guiding light all of his life. He was a member of Shepherd of the Desert Lutheran Church in Sun City. He was a Stephens Minister, sang in the choir and was available whenever and wherever needed. He was loved and respected by all who knew him and will be missed by all. He was truly a wonderful father and friend.

Dennis is survived by children, Paulette (Robert) Sjulstad, Fargo, ND; Penny West (Robert Morrison), Sun City, AZ; Bruce Jacobson, Fargo, ND; Eric (Barrie) Jacobson, Eden Prairie, MN; grandchildren, Jennifer Reger, Julie (Scott) Anderson, Beau Jacobson, Henry Jacobson, Marjorie Jacobson; great-grandchildren, Brenna Reger and Raelynn Anderson; brother, Howard (Anne) Jacobson, Sun City, AZ; Vernon Hanson, St. Paul, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marjorie; four brothers; and three sisters.
