“Gone Fishin!” After many years of hanging up the “Gone Fishin” sign, David Speral hung it up for the last time on Sunday, May 1, 2016.
Dave was born to Clifford E. and Doris (Rossow) Speral on October 1, 1952, in Breckenridge, MN. He moved with his mom and dad to Hope, ND in 1956. Along the way, he was joined by sister, Nancy (Rick) Freitag, and brothers, Paul (Cathy), Mark (Lynn), John (Romelle), and James. In 1969, the family moved to Fargo and Dave resided there until his death.
Dave spent his entire work life in the heating, ventilating, and air conditioning industry; first at Bruce, Inc., then Walt’s Refrigeration, and finally at Home Heating. The family would like to thank Home Heating for their support and understanding for Dave through his health challenges.
Through the years, the one constant for Dave, was hunting and fishing. It started in his teens and continued through his entire life. He hunted all types of game, waterfowl, and game birds, but his true love and passion was fishing. If he wasn’t actually on the water or ice, he was preparing to be on the water or ice; from rigging and outfitting his boat to making and tying jigs. As he was going through his health issues, he was always able to find solace and comfort by tying jigs.
Dave is survived by his mother; sister; brothers; (9) nieces and nephews, and (6) great-nieces and nephews. He is also survived by numerous friends and fishing buddies.
If you wish to honor and memorialize Dave, they are preferred to North Dakota Bowhunters Association Foundation, PO Box 374, Bismarck, ND 58502.
God’s speed Dave and catch one for us!
