David Bjorge Johnson, 84, formerly of Fargo, N.D., passed away on March 1, 2009, at Summit Place, Eden Prairie, Minn. He was born on July 6, 1924, in Hawley, Minn., to David George and Leona Paulyn (Bjorge) Johnson. Dave graduated from North Dakota Agricultural College (NDSU) with degrees in accounting and business in 1947. In 1958, he married Delores "Dee" Marie Larson of Abercrombie, N.D. Dave was known for his entrepreneurial spirit, forming and partnering in a number of businesses in North Dakota, California and Minnesota. In 1961, he started Security International Life Insurance Company, Fargo; he later formed Northwest Sales Company, also of Fargo. He was a director with Northern National Life Insurance Company, Bismarck. Dave was preceded in death by his wife, Dee, in 1990, and his sister, Rhoda Fingarson. He is survived by his son, Dr. David Scott Johnson, daughter-in-law, Dr. Barb A. Johnson, grandchildren, David Brendan, Reid and Elise Marie, Eden Prairie, and daughter, Carrie Elise, son-in-law, Jeff, and grandchildren, Abbie and Parker (Fargo).
