David Lee Heim, 51, of Fargo died Friday, September 4, 2015 in Fargo.

David was born October 1, 1963 to Mel and (Beverly Blow) Heim in Fargo, ND. He grew up in North Fargo and attended Fargo North High School. He worked as a painter and handyman as an independent contractor. He also installed blinds for J.C. Penney and worked in the family business, Mel Heim Painting & Decorating.

David loved spending time with his family, grandkids and dogs. He enjoyed bowling and the outdoors, which included golfing, and riding his motorcycle.

He is survived by his two daughters, Elizabeth (Marshall Richards) Heim, West Fargo, ND and Amanda Backstrom, Minneapolis, MN; significant other, Dorlayne Johnson, West Fargo, ND; brother, Dan Heim, Fargo, ND and grandchild, Rylee Richards, West Fargo, ND; nephews, Grant Heim and Mason Heim, and niece, Chranda Kramer.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Debbie Heim.
