Darlyne M. Leader, 90, of Fargo, ND, died on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Elim Care Center.
Darlyne Marie Herman was born September 3, 1928 at Chaseley, ND to Alex and Rose (Schatz) Herman. She attended school in Chaseley and Hurdsfield, ND, graduating from Hurdsfield High School in 1946.
On June 11, 1946, she was united in marriage to Robert M. Rhone. They had 2 children, Robert and Priscilla. He died May 25, 1952 in a drowning accident. She and her children resided with her father on his farm south of Hurdsfield.
In 1960 Darlyne and her children moved to Fessenden, ND where she was employed at the Federal Land Bank office.
On June 13, 1964, she was united in marriage to Howard A. Leader in Fessenden, ND. In 1965 the family moved to Fargo, ND where Howard was employed at the Fargo Post Office. She was employed by Hobart Restaurant Equipment for several years until she retired. She then worked part-time as Event Staff at the Fargo Dome when it opened. She enjoyed working there until she was in her late 70's.
Darlyne enjoyed baking, various types of needlework, sewing, and other crafts. If you were visiting at her house, you couldn't leave without having something to eat!
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; nephew, Curtis Hart; and brother-in-law, Warren Hart.
Darlyne is survived by her children, Robert (Jean) Rhone, Milan, IL and Priscilla (Ivan) Schlenker, Fargo, ND; two granddaughters, Heather (David) Perkins and their sons, Levi, Rylee, Elijah, and Jacob of Piedmont, OK; Cari (Dustyn) Vasfaret and their daughters, Caitlyn and Danielle, also of Piedmont, OK; two step-grandchildren, Tracey and Brad, both of Illinois; nine step-great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Hart, Chaseley, ND; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Elim Care Center and Hospice of the Red River Valley for their exceptional care.
