Dale Thompson of Moorhead, MN died Tuesday, July 3, at his home under the care of Hospice, surrounded by his family.

Dale was born July 16, 1936, the son of George and Clara Thompson in Moorhead, MN where he grew up and attended school. He was united in marriage to Gloria Paulson on April 23, 1960 in Fargo, ND.

Over the years, Dale spent his time in the tree trimming business, working for Shade Tree Service, Wright Tree Service and his last years as foreman for the Fargo Forestry department, where he retired due to health reasons.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Gloria; daughters, Rhonda (Tom) Hodgson, Dickinson, ND and Kelly (Doug) Kappes, Glyndon, MN; son, Mark (Mary) Thompson, Big Cormorant, MN; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Marilyn (Dale) Larson and Janet (Neal) Johnson; and brothers, Terry (Sandy) Thompson and Richard (Kay) Thompson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Joyce Nesting.

Funeral: Saturday, July 7, 2012, 11:00 AM at Atonement Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND.

Visitation: Friday, July 6, 2012 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, followed by a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM.

Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
