Dale Roger Larson

November 10, 1933 — January 18, 2025

Dale Roger Larson, 91, of Fargo passed away on January 18, 2025 at Bethany on University. Dale was born in Fargo on November 10, 1933 to Oscar and Vivian Larson. Dale grew up in Fargo and graduated from Fargo Central High School in 1951. He attended NDSU for 2 years before entering the Army in 1953. Dale returned to NDSU when he was honorably discharged and completed his business degree.

Dale married Marilyn Thompson of Moorhead on August 27, 1955. They were a great team and worked hard to achieve their goals. Just a day or two after getting engaged they made their first major purchase together- their much loved lake property on Pelican Lake, where they hosted family and friends for all of these years. Dale also began working for the family business, United Electric Service and Supply. He was very active in the automotive industry serving on the board of directors of the Automotive Service Industry Association (ASIA) and was a member of the Automotive Hall of Fame in Detroit. He was also an active member of Plymouth Congregational Church in Fargo, serving on just about every committee and board.

Dale and Marilyn raised three children in north Fargo- Gail, Steven and SueEllen. Family was a priority. The entire family made many memories on winter ski vacations and at the lake. They were also proud grandparents to six grandchildren and two great grandchildren, plus one due in July.

Dale was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Marilyn; this past November, his brother, Bruce Larson (AZ); infant daughter, Linda; daughter, SueEllen; daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Joe Larson; and grandchildren, Amy and Eric Larson.

Left to remember Dale’s sense of humor and wisdom are his son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Shauna Larson (Glyndon); grandchildren, Elizabeth Larson (Nashville), Chris Larson (Fargo), Bryan Larson and Kendra Lewellyn (Moorhead), Callie (Larson) and Austin Burns (Minot); and great grandchildren, Ellia, Ian and Noa Larson (Nashville) and Colter Burns (Minot) and baby Burns due in July. Also surviving Dale is his sister, Joyce Henderson (Fargo); and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service for both Dale and Marilyn will be held on Friday, May 2 at 10:30 am at Plymouth Congregational Church, 901 N. Broadway. THIS IS A TIME CHANGE FROM WHAT WAS ORIGINALLY POSTED!! A coffee and fellowship hour will immediately follow the service at the church.
