Curtis Higginbotham of Wahpeton, ND passed away unexpectantly on January 6, 2026 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND. Curt was born on June 8, 1958, in Valley City, ND to Robert and Roberta Higginbotham. As a child Curtis enjoyed spending time with his brothers and cousin at the family farm southwest of Valley City. He later moved and graduated from South Sioux City, NE High School in 1977. Curt went on to join the U.S. Army and lived in Germany for many years. While in Germany, Curtis met and married Heike Krauel. Together they had two beautiful children, Tammy and Kevin. Curtis and Heiki later divorced and he returned to the U.S. to reconnect with family. Curtis worked in manufacturing and spent his recent years living in Wahpeton, ND with his beloved girlfriend Anita Syring while working at Contitech USA. He enjoyed small town living where life is simpler and slower paced. Curtis loved fishing, hunting, all sports, and was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his older brother, Stuart Higginbotham (Jamestown, ND). He is survived by his two children, Tammy Higginbotham and Kevin Higginbotham (Germany); his brother, Barry (Jackie) Higginbotham of Pierre, SD; his sister, Pamela (Chad) Lentz of Pelican Rapids, MN; his beloved life partner, Anita Syring of Wahpeton, ND; and his three nieces and one nephew. A private burial service will be held at Hillside Cemetery in Valley City, ND at a future date.
