Obituary

Craig Allen Kjos, 76, Fargo, passed away on June 12, 2026, at the family cabin in Pelican Rapids, MN.

Craig was born on January 17, 1950, in New Rockford, ND to Thomas and Lois (Hasbrook) Kjos. He graduated from New Rockford High School in 1969 and later served in the United States Army until his discharge in 1972.

Craig married Robin Larson on September 10, 1977, beginning a partnership that lasted 48 years.

Craig had many employment roles over the years. His love of building things brought him into the construction field. He was a self-employed contractor until he retired.

His biggest accomplishment (besides his kids) was the family cabin he built at "the land." Everyone who knew him knew that was his happy place. He loved to show it off and enjoyed the annual 4th of July family get-together.

In his youth Craig was a member of the Boy Scouts of America, earning the highest rank of Eagle Scout. He continued to be involved in scouting and was scout master for Troop 216 from 1986-2001. He was involved with the scouts until 2011 serving in various roles and earned the Silver Beaver Award in 2002.

Craig's hobbies included fishing, hunting, playing guitar, stamp & coin collecting and model trains. He was a lifelong Packers fan and during the football season you could find him yelling at the TV.

Craig leaves behind his wife, Robin; children, Melanie, Ryan, and Evan; grandson, Zander; brother, Norris (Becky) Kjos; sisters, Cyndi Kjos, Candice (Ron) Jarrett, Jeanine Baker; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Renae, Ordell, Sandi Olund, Pamela Preminger, and Aunt Sylvia Kjos.

A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home in Fargo, with visitation one hour prior. The service will be livestreamed on the funeral home website. Interment will be held at a later date at Fargo National Cemetery, Harwood, ND.
