Obituary

By God’s plan and gracious design, Coral Irene was born on November 10, 1925 in Cathay, North Dakota, to Edward and Annie (Reddig) Edinger. Her parents received Coral as a precious gift from God and brought her to Holy Baptism at the Baptist Church in Cathay. She continued to grow in faith and lived a life of quiet testimony. She died peacefully, surrounded by family and was welcomed to the Kingdom of God on October 8, 2015. She is joining those loved ones who preceded her in death: her husband of over 50 years, ElRoy Trochmann, her brother, Wallace Edinger, and her sisters, Irma Meth, Myra Boelke, and Alice Schlittenhardt.

Coral was raised on a farm in Cathay with her three brothers, Wallace, Dennis, and Richard, and three sisters, Irma, Myra, and Alice. She attended a one-room schoolhouse through 8th grade and enjoyed riding horses with her siblings while growing up. She moved to Fargo, ND, as an adult where she worked at Fargo Laundry. She met ElRoy Trochmann in Fargo, whom she married on June 25, 1948. She and ElRoy were blessed with two children, Nancy and Dale. Once Nancy and Dale were in elementary school, Coral returned to work at the VA Hospital in Fargo. She worked there until her retirement in 1986.

After her retirement, she enjoyed spending time playing bingo, crocheting, walking, and baking. She was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her warmth, kindness, good humor, and friendship blessed many in her last years at Sheyenne Crossings. She was independent, humble, faithful, and cheerful to her last days.

Left to join her later through faith in the resurrection of Jesus Christ, are her surviving children; Nancy (Steve) Breker, West Fargo, ND; and Dale (Lisa) Trochmann, Denver, CO; her grandchildren, Raime (Chris) Muhle, Maren Trochmann, Tasha Breker, Bridgit (Chris) Lehfeldt, and Leslie (Jeff) Aune; and her seven great-grandchildren, London, Dominic, Jason, Shane, Abigail, Layla, and Solveig; siblings, Dennis Edinger, Cathay, ND; and Richard Edinger, Fergus Falls, MN.

The family wishes to express sincere thanks to the staff at the Sanford Health Wound Clinic, Palliative Care, and 5 South for the care and support they provided to Coral.
