Conway Nelson, 91, of West Fargo, ND, passed away on October 16, 2026, at New Perspective Senior Living in West Fargo.

Conway was born on April 20, 1935, in Minneapolis, MN, to Harold and Sadie (Grasberg) Nelson. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis, where he served as manager of the basketball team.

On November 3, 1956, Conway married Erna Zaske in Minneapolis. He worked at Toro for several years before beginning a long career with Rosemount Engineering.

Conway enjoyed bowling, golf, men's league softball, bingo, and cribbage. He and Erna also cherished their lake place on Sullivan Lake in Morrison County, MN, which was part of their lives for 60 years. Conway especially enjoyed fishing there over the years.

Conway and Erna were members of Abiding Savior Lutheran Church in Tempe, AZ, beginning in 1988.

Erna preceded him in death on August 30, 2020, after 64 years of marriage.

Conway is survived by his daughters, Laura Carlson of Fargo, ND, and Eileen Alm of Sheridan, CO; and his grandchildren, Jennifer Alm and Julie Alm.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Erna; sister, Linda McMurtrey; and his son-in-law, Fred Carlson.

Burial will be at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Crystal, MN.
