Connie Ann Swanson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, and friend, passed away on Monday, May 9th. Connie was born a twin, Charles Frans, on October 28th, 1942, to Russell and Rose Frans of Willmar, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethel Lutheran Church in Willmar. She graduated from Willmar High School in 1960 and received her Associate Business degree from Globe Business College of Saint Paul.

Connie Frans married Larry Swanson on April 24th, 1964. Together they have three children, Michelle, Michael, and Amie. Connie and Larry have resided in Fargo for 60 years and have been members of the First Lutheran Church of Fargo for over fifty years.

Connie, affectionately known as “Mrs. Connie” by students and parents, was an owner and teacher of Froliche-Kinder Preschool for 25 years. She will be remembered for her devotion to family, love for children and teaching, and her volunteer roles with the Swedish Cultural Heritage Society. Connie also traveled seven times to Slovakia with First Lutheran mission teams to establish and support the Center for Christian Education.

Connie is survived by her husband, Larry Swanson, Fargo; and children Michelle Haakenson, Maple Grove; Michael Swanson, Fargo; and Amie & Gary Haugo, Fargo; Brother Charles and Roberta Frans, Richfield. Grandchildren Luke, Meredith, and Jonathan Haakenson, Maple Grove; Benjamin, Brooke, and Sienna Swanson, Fargo; Peder, Ahna, Matthew and Liv Haugo, Fargo.


In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the First Lutheran Global Missions Fund or Sanford Hospice.
