It is with great sadness that the family of Connie Lee LaCroix (Wright) announce her passing at Bethany on 42nd on October 11, 2025.
Connie was born on November 16, 1946 to Oliver (Bud) Wright and Opal Wright. She graduated from Fargo Central High School and attended Minnesota State University, Moorhead. Connie and her family were members of Olivet Lutheran Church for many years.
Connie spent a lot of her summers on her grandparent's and aunts and uncles farms near Climax, MN. She also enjoyed many weekends in the summer at Cormorant Lake with friends and family.
Connie worked at Nash Finch, Fargo M.E.P.S., the IRS (both in Fargo and Denver where she commuted from Colorado Springs) and also U.S. Bank before her retirement.
Connie very much enjoyed reading both fiction and non-fiction literature, writing and journaling, and she also was keenly interested in the world around her and was passionate about politics and current events. Her love of history and storytelling connected her passions for literature and politics. Connie also enjoyed learning about her Dutch and Norwegian heritages and over time she researched her family ancestry.
Connie delighted in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and often made sure they wore the colors of her favorite NSDU Bison football team! It was rare for Connie to miss watching the Bison play and family members knew not to phone her when "my Bison" were playing.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver (Bud) and Opal Wright. Sharing loving memories are her surviving children Michael (Ellen) Lunde, Fargo, ND; Tim Hanna, Ellenton, FL; her siblings Keith (Enes) Wright Colorado Springs, CO; Steve (Gwen) Wright, Excelsior, MN and Janet (Brad) Jacobson, Centennial, CO; two grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. She leaves many nieces and nephews and her special cousins, Gail Sondreal and Wayne Sondreal. She also formed close ties with her cousins in Iowa from the Wright side of the family.
A special thank you to the wonderful staff at Bethany on both University and 42nd street in Fargo for their loving, warm, and comforting care of Connie.
A mother, sister, cousin, and a grandma too, this is the legacy we have from you. In our hearts you hold a place, no one else will ever fill. Perhaps they are not stars in the sky, but rather openings where our loved ones shine down to let us know they are happy. We will forever love you and miss you!
The family will have a private memorial service. Memorials may be made in Connie's memory to Bethany Foundation at www.bethanynd.org or by mail at Bethany Retirement Living Foundation at 201 University Drive South, Fargo, ND 58103.
