Obituary

Carolyn Ann Prante died on December 18, 2025 in Apache Junction, AZ. Her Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, 215 7th St. South, in Fargo, ND. There will be a visitation at 10:00 am.

Carolyn Ann Prante was born in Bismarck, ND to parents, Mildred and Thomas Meidinger. She was baptized at St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Wishek, ND. She spent the first four years of her life living on the family farm outside of Wishek with her parents and two brothers, Dean and Wayne. The family moved into Wishek where Carolyn attended elementary and middle school. In 1966, the family moved to Jamestown, ND where she graduated from high school.

Carolyn gave birth to her only son, Matthew Wade Beshear, on October 12, 1975. Matt died on October 16, 2021 from complications of lung cancer.

Carolyn worked at many different jobs throughout her life, managing a restaurant, school secretary, waitressing; but the job that meant the most to her, and the one where she worked the longest was as a MRB Tech at John Deere Electronic Solutions, Fargo, ND. One of her greatest joys was being able to test drive many of John Deere's huge machinery that they would bring to the parking lot. She collected anything John Deere she could put her hands on. As her family and friends knew, she was also a huge Elvis fan.

Carolyn loved spending time with her grandchildren, going to sporting events with family, playing Bunco with friends, knitting and crocheting. She made trips to Wishek, ND a few times a year to visit relatives and to pick up Wishek sausage. Most of all she loved Christmas. She was always the first one to tell you the day after Christmas that there were only 365 days till Christmas.

Carolyn met Tim Chrissis in 2019. They enjoyed travelling together, and in the last few years they became "snowbirds" living during the winter in Apache Junction, AZ. They enjoyed playing Hand & Foot, Shanghai, and Skyjo with friends in their park. In the last few years, Carolyn developed a great fondness for doing Diamond paintings.

Carolyn and Tim were married on May 5, 2025 at their home in Moorhead, MN. In July, they sold their house and moved to Apache Junction. They had great hopes and dreams of travelling and spending time together, but unfortunately after only a few days in Arizona, Carolyn became sick and entered into the hospital. She never was able to return home, and after 5 months in rehab centers, hospitals, and nursing homes, Carolyn passed away on December 18, 2025.

In lieu of flowers, we invite people to give any memorials to Hospice Care in the area that they live.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, Millie and Tom Meidinger; and her son, Matthew Beshear. She is survived by her husband, Tim Chrissis of Apache Junction, AZ; two brothers, Dean Meidinger of Manteca, CA, and Wayne Meidinger of Dell Rapids, SD; daughter-in-law, Samantha Beshear of Fargo, ND; step-children, Jim Prante (& Peggy) of Fl, Jerry (& DoeRae) Prante of Wahpeton, ND, Jay (& Deanna) Prante of Casselton, ND, Julie (& Kevin) Lawler of Casselton, ND; 2 nieces, Katrina Mitchell of Sioux Falls, SD, and Kristen Sage of Columbus, OH; 6 step grand-children, 5 step great-grand-children, and lots and lots of family and friends who will miss her very much.
