Carole Diane (Skog) Thorstad passed peacefully with her family by her side on August 9, 2021, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo.

She was the beloved wife of the late Donald Thorstad. Much loved mother of Daniel (Susan) Thorstad, Scott (Brenda) Thorstad, and Jolene Thorstad. Cherished grandmother of Brandyn, Brittany, Sean, Alec, Blaise, Morgan, Brogan, and Cooper. Great-grandmother to Aydan, Khloey, Jasmine, Dylan, Thane, Reyna, and Olivia.

Carole was born in Fargo on November 5, 1936, to Ernest and Ester (Johnson) Skog. She graduated from Central High School and had many adventures until settling down when she married Don on August 17, 1965. They bought a house in the Golden Ridge, and she quickly became the neighborhood mother. She enjoyed sitting on her front steps, talking to the neighbors as they strolled by, and watching the neighborhood kids play.

Carole enjoyed gardening and growing patio tomatoes when she moved into an apartment. She looked forward to her weekly visits with friends at Tailgator’s and kept in touch with them after she could no longer make the trip. She loved to banter with family and friends, especially about her beloved Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Twins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters Audrey and Dodie, brother Sonny, and other close family and friends. She is survived by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and many close friends.
