Bruce Wallace Skjonsby

April 1, 1933 — April 12, 2016

Bruce Wallace Skjonsby, son of Clifton and Evelyn (Bolstad) Skjonsby, passed away April 12, 2016, at the age of 83.

Bruce was born in Christine, ND. When he was 7, the family moved to Carrington, ND. A graduate of Carrington High School, Bruce served two years in the US Army. In 1961, he married Joan Miller; they made their home in Fargo.

He was a 1965 graduate of Moorhead State University and worked with his dad at Skjonsby Truck Line until 1971, when his dad retired. Bruce then ran the business until it was sold in 1982. He continued to work in the trucking industry until his own retirement in 1995.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Joan; two brothers, Deane (Bonnie) and Jerry (Karen); two sisters, Karen Bender and Lauralee (Steven) Stenzel, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Marvin Bender.

Memorials are preferred to Peace Lutheran Church Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice.
