Brenda Joy Eid was born on February 10, 1941, to Henry and Marjorie (Freeman) Cruz in Moorhead, MN. She grew up in Moorhead and graduated from Shanley High School in 1959. She attended North Dakota State University to study interior design and belonged to the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority.
Brenda was united in marriage to Gerald Dale Eid in Chicago, IL on June 9, 1961. They resided in Moorhead where they raised three children: Bradley born in 1964, Dawndi born in 1966, and Jason born in 1971. After a long battle with dementia, Brenda died peacefully in her home on Friday, October 25, 2019, surrounded by family.
Throughout the years, Brenda remained a devoted wife, mother, daughter, and grandmother. She was active with several charities, the latest being PEO. Brenda enjoyed playing bridge, baking, sewing, and spending time with her grandchildren. During her illness a special bond had formed between her and her 4-year-old great-granddaughter, Brooklyn.
Brenda is survived by her husband of 58 years, Gerald; two sons, Bradley (Bibbi) of Greenwood, IN and Jason (Kristie) of Fargo; daughter, Dawndi (Jerry) Eid of Minneapolis; 7 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, two brothers, Charles (MaryAnn) Cruz of Sharpsburg, GA and Frederic (Sandy) Cruz of Modesto, CA; step-brother, David (Audrey) Swang, and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Marjorie and Mike Swang and her father, Henry Cruz.
