Beverly Joan Olson

Beverly Olson died at home with her husband by her side on May 18, 2021.

Beverly was born in Brainerd, Minnesota on November 10, 1936. She lived the first six years of her life with her parents at Fort Ripley, Minnesota before the family moved to Seattle, Washington. They returned to Minnesota four years later and lived in several rural communities where Bev attended country school.

Following graduation from high school in Glyndon, MN, Bev was blessed to work for the Franciscan Sisters at St. Ansgar Hospital while she attended MSUM. She later transferred to the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN where she obtained a degree in Medical Record Science.

During the next 35 years, Beth served as a director of medical records at St. Francis Hospital in Breckenridge, MN, Winona Community Hospital, The Neuropsychiatric Hospital, and Saint Luke's/Merit Care, Fargo.

Following retirement, she spent time assisting her father-in-law and numerous "elderly" friends who brought a special dimension to her life. She enjoyed spending time with Dave, her husband/best friend. They enjoyed many activities together, such as reading, gardening, their dogs, remodeling projects, and road trips to Perham where they enjoyed lunching at the Gathering Place and buying plants at Jean's Place.

Bev's spiritual journey and belief in God's call were central to her life. Bev was especially grateful for the ministry of nuns who she worked with and who were present at several crisis points along the way; and whose kindness had a profound impact on her life. The special connections she made with Sister Joyce Rupp on retreats, Sister Maureen, Mary Jo Lewis and other spiritual directors greatly enriched her life. Bev and Dave became Presentation Associates and members of the Presentation "family," a relationship that was very meaningful to her.

Bev is survived by Dave Solberg, her husband of 35 years; step-daughter, Sonja (Clark) Weber, Portland, OR and Krista (Ernest) Lavigne, Fort Collins, CO, along with their children Emma and Cole Weber and Dakota, Ella and Landon Lavigne.

A memorial service for friends and family will be held at the Presentation Prayer Center 1101 32nd Ave. S., Fargo on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at 2:00 pm with a visitation one hour prior.

In lieu of flowers, a gift to the Presentation Sisters of Fargo, Churches United for the Homeless (Micah's Mission), or an organization of your choice would be a special memorial.
