Beverly Fisher, 98, of Fargo died Thursday, February 5, 2026 at St. Catherine North in Fargo under the care of HIA Hospice.
Beverly Jane Bakke was born August 31, 1927 in Twin Valley, MN to Edwin and Birdie (Berg) Bakke. She attended school in Twin Valley and was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church. Bev attended Dakota Business College and was employed at Collection Service in her early years.
Bev was united in marriage to Eugene (Gene) Scott Fisher on July 3, 1949 at Zion Lutheran in Twin Valley. They were married for 72 years. They raised four beloved children together.
Volunteering was very important to her. She served as President of the Lincoln PTA, was active in District 46 Republicans and volunteered at Dakota Hospital for 24 years.
When people talk about Bev, they always mention her big smile and her sense of humor. She talked to everyone and made so many connections by sending thoughtful cards and messages to everyone, for birthdays, anniversaries, well wishes or just “I’m thinking of you.” She was a great cook and baker who believed in huge portions. But most of all, she was a Mom - she was constantly supportive and proud of her kids and we knew her love was constant.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gene; son, Steve Fisher; and sisters, Ioan Grossman and Orel Griewe.
Bev is survived by her children, Susan (David) Wee, Winston-Salem NC, Nancy Fisher, Fargo ND, Charles (Zhaoping), El Monte CA; grandchildren, Kate (Jesse) Score, Winston-Salem NC; Luna (Thomas Lane) Zhu, Lima OH; greatgrandson, Elliott Alan Score; special (like a sister) niece, Marsha Stevens and nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at Olivet Lutheran Church, Fargo with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo ND.
Memorials may be given to Olivet Lutheran Church, HIA Hospice-Fargo, or, in memory of Bev, to the charity of your choice.
The family wishes to thank all the loving caregivers at St Catherine North, HIA Hospice and Hanson-Runsvold. They truly are angels on Earth and Bev’s family is so thankful for them.
