Betty A. Oberg, 91, of Fargo, ND, formerly of Wyndmere, ND, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Bethany on University in Fargo, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Betty Arlene Baumgartner was born June 21, 1923 to William and Margaret (Budke) Baumgartner in Fergus Falls, MN. She graduated from high school in Wyndmere, ND, and attended Business College in Minneapolis, MN. Betty married Norman L. Oberg on December 30, 1942. She was employed by the US Postal Service and later Lincoln State Bank in Wyndmere. Norman and Betty moved to Fargo in 1970 and she retired from Shirley Ohnstads in 1986.
Betty enjoyed reading, bowling, craft work, quilting at the church, and volunteered many hours with the RSVP organization, Boy Scouts of America, and at Bethany Retirement Living. She was also a member of the Eagles and the VFW Auxiliary.
Betty is survived by daughter, Pam (Tony) Schreiner, Treasure Island, FL; son, Rodney (Fran) Oberg, Moorhead, MN; grandchildren, Terri (Mark) Schultz, Fargo, ND; Kristi (Brad) Sturn, West Fargo, ND; Ryan (Leah Siewert) Oberg, Fargo, ND; great-grandchildren, Ashley (Kevin) Fisher, Jenna Schultz, Laiken and Aidan Sturn; and great-great-granddaughters, Bella and Jersie.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman; an infant son; her parents; sister, Thelma; brother, Arthur; and numerous cousins.
