Bernice Margaret Rasmussen (Lewis) 83, passed away on December 9, 2020 at her home in Fargo under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Bernice was born August 20, 1937 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. She married Donald Arthur Rasmussen on August 23, 1958. They immigrated to the United States in 1963 and made the Fargo-Moorhead area their home. They became US citizens in 1978.
Her work outside the home included secretary for John D Paulson at the Fargo Forum and executive assistant in the advertising department for Melroe Bobcat where she retired.
She is survived by her daughters, Cindy (Rob) Strickland, Charlottesville, VA; Marietta (Brian) Bettermann, Fargo. Six grandchildren Amanda (Megan Hines) Amherst, VA; Michael Strickland, New York, NY; Matthew (April Gobeil) Kirschenmann, Fargo; Katie (Andrew) Hatfield, Okinawa, Japan; Jessa Kirschenmann, Fargo and Emma Snyder, Chico, CA. Great grandchildren Hope and Timothy Hatfield, Okinawa, Japan.
She was predeceased by her husband Don, and daughter Donna Snyder (Kirschenmann).
Private services to be held at a later date. Donations in her honor maybe be made to the American Cancer Society, or Hospice of the Red River Valley.
