Barbara Ann (Gosling) Holvik, 90, of Fargo, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, after a long illness.
She was born on November 2, 1927, in Manchester, Iowa, to Edna Mary (Dorman) and Francis George Gosling. She was raised in Manchester with her sister, Edna Mary (Gosling) Silbaugh, and brother, Francis George (Bud) Gosling, Jr. After high school, Barb attended Iowa State University where she graduated, majoring in Home Economics with an emphasis on nutrition.
Following college graduation, Barb had several internships and jobs in the Midwest. During one of these she met Bert Holvik, and they were married on November 3, 1963, in Rochester, MN.
In time the couple moved to Fargo where Barb worked for many years as a dietitian at Fargo Clinic and MeritCare. Barb was an avid bridge player, wonderful cook and homemaker, gardener and loyal church worker. She had a big heart and generous nature. Both she and Bert were longtime members of First Congregation (UCC) Church in Fargo.
Barb was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister and brother. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
