Arnhold Elmer Hoff was born June 6, 1931 to Adam and Freda (Berreth) Hoff in Temvik, ND. The family moved to Tappen in 1945 and he went to Tappen High School. He joined the USAF in April 1950.

In 1954 he was stationed at Ellsworth AFB in Rapid City, SD. He married Janice Martin Jan 30, 1962 in Rapid City.

While in the military he served in Taiwan, Aviano, Italy, Grand Forks AFB and Vietnam. After his retirement they moved to Fargo where he worked at ACME Welding until retiring in 1992. He worked part time at NDSU until 2008.

Arnhold enjoyed bowling and traveling in his free time.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Janice; sons, Douglas (Rachel), of Rock Hill, SC, David (Patricia) of Moorhead, MN; grandchildren, Kayla (Aaron) Larson, Moorhead, MN, Nicholas Hoff, Moorhead, MN, Meredith and Meleah Hoff, Rock Hill, SC and great-granddaughter, Delilah Larson; sisters, Phyllis Kramlich, Medina, ND, Ruby Wall, Bismarck, ND and sister-in-law, Barbara Hoff, Libby, MT.

Arnhold was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Reuben (WWII), Reinhold, Melvin and Albert and sisters, Emma and Irene.
