Obituary

Amos Lomindya Albert

With deep sorrow, but with gratitude to God for a life well lived, the family of Amos Lomindya Albert affectionately known as "Dada," announces his peaceful passing on April 23, 2026, at the Huntsman Cancer Institute after a courageous three-year battle with colon cancer. He was surrounded by family and friends.

Amos was born on April 26, 1977, in Entebbe, Uganda to the late Albert Abe Simbe and Jean Gire. He belonged to the Kakwa heritage, Teremo Clan of Mongo Boma, and carried throughout his life the values of humility, resilience, faith, and dedication.

Amos began his education at Christ the King Primary School in Yei, South Sudan. Due to the civil war, his family was displaced and relocated to Mongo village before he later moved to Koboko, Uganda, where he continued his education at Teremonga Primary School and Nyangilia Secondary School. From an early age, Amos distinguished himself academically, consistently excelling in his studies and demonstrating leadership qualities among his peers.

He later continued his secondary education in Kenya at Kabete Secondary School in Nairobi and Kyulu Secondary School in Machakos, where he achieved historic academic success by ranking first among 45 students in his final examinations. His exceptional performance earned him recognition from teachers and school leadership alike.

In 2000, Amos received a scholarship through the Windle Charitable Trust, which opened the door for him to pursue higher education in Canada. He attended the University of Prince Edward Island for Pre-Engineering studies before later continuing at the University of Alberta, where he studied Chemistry.

In 2011, Amos moved to the United States and furthered his education at North Dakota State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology. His outstanding academic discipline earned him placement on the Dean's List for four consecutive semesters with a perfect 4.0 GPA. He was also actively involved in the Bison Geology Club and demonstrated leadership in both school and church activities throughout his life.

Professionally, Amos was respected for his dedication, reliability, and compassion. While living in Edmonton, Alberta, he worked at Protegra Inc. supporting clients with special needs. Due to his strong work ethic and leadership abilities, he was promoted to Emergency Client Assistant Team (ECAT) Supervisor under Independent Counseling Enterprise.

In July 2011, Amos joined Swanson Health Products in Fargo, North Dakota, where he faithfully served as a Lead Receiving Associate until April 2026. He was admired by colleagues for his diligence, integrity, and willingness to help others.

Beyond all his accomplishments, Amos' greatest pride and joy was his family. On August 22, 2009, he married the love of his life, Joice Moi. Together they built a home grounded in love, faith, and mutual respect and were blessed with a son, Isaiah.

Amos was a devoted husband, loving father, caring brother, and dependable friend whose quiet strength and unwavering support touched many lives. Amos was a committed Christian who lived according to God's word. He served faithfully in church leadership during his youth and carried a spirit of humility, service, and faithfulness throughout his life.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Joice Moi; his son, Isaiah; seven brothers; and three sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Abe Simbe and Jean Gire; and his sisters, Florence Night and Beatrice Kiden.

Though deeply mourned, Amos will be remembered for his perseverance, kindness, intelligence, leadership, and faith. His life was a testimony of courage, determination, and love.

As written in The Holy Bible:

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."

May his soul rest in eternal peace.

Rest well, Dada.

You will forever remain in our hearts.
