Alma “Lee” Henning, 96, of Fargo, ND, died Thursday, October 20, 2011, at Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN. Lee was born September 1, 1915 to Shirley and Annie (Garn) Birdsong in Hiba, TX. She married Dalles Henning December 3, 1944 in Dallas, TX. She was dedicated to helping Dalles with his work for Cass Clay Creamery, Fargo. Lee taught Math, Spanish and English in Texas, North Dakota and Minnesota. Locally, she taught in Fargo, Moorhead, Oak Grove Lutheran and Dilworth. Lee and Dalles were long time members of First United Methodist Church in Fargo. They were also strong supporters of the YMCA and all three Fargo and Moorhead Universities. Lee is survived by her sister, Dot (Perry) Williamson, Arlington, TX; son, Lorry Henning, Garberville, CA; daughter, Dawn (Dr. P. Bradley) Logan, Bemidji, MN; grandchildren, Jesse Henning, Garberville, CA, Erin (David) Layfield, Burlington, NC and Heidi Holtermann-Henning, San Jose, CA; great grandchildren, Morgan and Daphne Layfield, Burlington, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four sisters and two brothers. Funeral: Monday, October 24, 2011, 10:00 AM at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND. Visitation: One hour prior to services at Hanson-Runsvold. Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND.
