Alice Westra, 84, died peacefully in her home on Leech Lake, Walker, MN on Saturday, June 25, 2016. She was born January 10, 1932 in Akra, ND to Einar and Helga (Gudmundson) Abrahamson. She grew up in Akra and graduated from Cavalier High School. She attended Wahpeton State College of Science in Wahpeton, ND. She married Jack Westra on September 12, 1953. They lived in Fargo and raised their family there. She worked as a secretary for the City of Fargo for 35 years.

Alice is survived by her children: Tom (Ann) Westra, Moorhead, MN; Janell (Pat) Bushaw, Manvel, ND; Tim (Angie Green-Mizell) Westra, Haughton, LA; Terry (Mary) Westra, Maple Grove, MN; 3 grandchildren Nicholas, Rachel and Steven Westra; brothers, Finnboji (Sally) Abrahamson, Akra, ND; Einar Olarfur Abrahamson, Cavalier, ND; sisters, Agnes Hagstrom, Grand Forks, ND; Arlene (Daniel) Holen, Billings , MT; Aldis (Wayne) Pearson, Saginaw, MN and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack; son, John and brothers, Jon Albert and Edmund Bjorgvin.
