Vera Ellen Cooper

August 24, 1934 - November 9, 2019

Vera Ellen Cooper, 85, Eventide on Eighth Moorhead went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 9, 2019. Vera was born to parents John and Gladys (Clapp) Littler on August 24, 1934 in Cass Lake, MN. After graduating Bemidji High School, she flew to Anchorage, Alaska where she was joined in marriage to Carroll Cooper. They were married 39 years and divorced. Vera worked as a library paraprofessional at Fargo Public Schools-Madison Elementary School. She also spent time as a volunteer at Glyndon Lutheran Church Food Pantry, Owner of Lake Park Hardware Hank for several years, opened Vera’s Nook and Cranny in Detroit Lakes and volunteered at The Refuge in Detroit Lakes. Vera lived in Moorhead, Hawley, and Rochert, MN before entering Eventide Nursing Home. Vera enjoyed gardening, quilting, reading, bible study, and volunteering at homeless shelters. She had a very strong faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a prayer warrior. Vera is survived by her two daughters, Gayle (Dennis) Lura of Fargo, ND, Lynette (Chris) Byles of San Diego, CA and son, Don (Laurie) Cooper of Grand Blanc, MI. Six grandchildren, Jonathan (Janessa) Vageline, Larimore, ND, Brent (Tressa) Lura, Fargo, ND, Jessica (Ryan) Richard, Horace, ND, Devon (Andy) Glass, Fargo, ND, Chelsea Cooper, Caledonia, MI, and Erin (Bryce) Spiker, Okemos, MI. She has twelve great-grandchildren. Vera is also survived by her brothers, Floyd Littler, Clifford Littler, Vernon (Sharon) Littler, John (Sherry) Littler and sisters, Vona (Gene) Tardy, Gladys Jensen, and Charlotte Jackson. Vera is predeceased by her parents, sisters Bernice Tardy, Beatrice Kolkin, and brother, Roy Littler. There will be a visitation at Hanson Runsvold Funeral Home Monday, November 11th from 5-7PM. Funeral Services will take place at Northwoods Harvest Barn and Cowboy Church, 39410 MN-34, Detroit Lakes, MN. Tuesday, November 12 Visitation:10:00 AM Service: 11:00AM Interment: Ten Lakes Cemetery, Andrusia Road SE, Betrami County following lunch at church.
