Shirley Rod, 89, of Fargo, ND, was called to her eternal resting place on August 20, 2019 at Vibra Hospital in Fargo.

Shirley Ann Pharnes entered this world on March 5, 1930 in Moorhead, MN, born to Arnold and Maude (Roberts) Pharnes. She graduated from Fargo Central High in 1947.

In 1949, Shirley married Gordon Rod in Fargo, ND. She worked at Standard Oil for a number of years before having children. She was so proud of her time she spent raising their children, Deb and Kevin. She also helped raise her grandson, Chad.

She is survived by her son, Kevin (Jessica) Rod, West Fargo, ND; daughter, Deb (Jim) Reitan, Fargo, ND; grandson, Chad (Rachel) Solberg, Onawa, IA; great-granddaughter, Katie Solberg; and sister, Sherry (Donald) Dunham, Oxnard, CA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon; parents; and granddaughter, Lisa Solberg.
