Richard E. Shores passed away at the Veterans Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota on August 28, 2017 at the age of 75.

He is survived by his three sons, Scott (Moni) Shores, Kevin Shores, Allen (Jessica) Shores. Eight grandchildren, one brother Jerry (LaVonne) Shores, Two sisters Geraldine Dalen, and JoAnn (Brent) Frazier, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Richard was born June 7, 1942 to Erwin and Esmer (Sammons) Shores at Pelican Rapids . He grew up in the area around Pelican. He graduated from high school in the spring of 1960 and that August joined the Army and was stationed in Germany after basic training. He then came back to the states to settle in the Twin Cities area. He also visited back to Germany to see his son Scott and family.

For most of his life he drove truck for a living. After an injury he retired, he moved to the Moorhead area.

Richard had a passion for taking nature pictures and for doing wood working.

In his later days when could no longer do those hobbies, he enjoyed going to lunch with his friends. The Frying Pan, Mom'sKitchen, Village Inn, and the Shack would see them just about every week.
