On Saturday, May 21, 2022, Nora Nelson, loving wife, and mother of three children, passed away at age 82.

Nora was born on August 21, 1939, in Eureka, SD, to Henry and Martha Diede. She received a degree from Interstate Business College and worked at multiple secretarial jobs throughout her 46-year career. She married the love of her life, Alfred Nelson, on March 4, 1989.

Nora was a talented quilter, but her passion was spending time with her grandchildren. Special getaways to Medora, Wisconsin Dells, Disney World, and Seattle left lifelong memories. Any time she would see a baby in public, she had to stop and kiss the child. Nora's Christian faith was grounded since childhood.

Nora is survived by her husband Alfred, three children, Matthew (Laura) Nelson, Marc (Michelle) Haaland, and Colleen (John) Abramowski. Seven grandchildren, Henry and Benjamin Nelson, Nathan and Nicholas Haaland, and Jared (Sara), Paul (Patricia), and Emily Abramowski; two great-grandchildren Sofia and Sally Abramowski; and her twin brother Norman (Lyla) Diede.

Nora was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Martha; brothers Royal, Calvin, Arnold, Clarance, Lawrence, and Aaron; sisters Ella, Irene, Verna, and Ruth.
