Lorraine Melin, 94, of Fargo, ND, passed peacefully on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at St. Catherine North in Fargo, North Dakota following a short illness.

Lorraine was born July 10, 1927 in Hallock, MN. She graduated from Englewood High School, Englewood, CA and went on to have a long career as a Western Bell / AT&T Telephone operator with a long break to raise her family. She retired from AT&T June 1990. Lorraine met Kenneth Melin while living and working with the telephone company in Fargo, ND. They were married in 1953.

Lorraine was a member of First Lutheran Church in Fargo. Two things that always put a smile on her face were grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a good bingo game.

Lorraine is survived by her sons Kevin (Kyounghee), Rick, Rock, daughter Lori (David) Swenson, nine grandchildren Scott (Nicole) Melin, Shawna (Sean) Rodriguez, Ashley Meilin, Dwayne Stanley II, Alyssa ( Ryan) Staggs, Lindsey (Ryan) Sluder, Trisha (Justin) Braaten, Micheal Swenson, Makayla Swenson and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Bernard and Martha Locken, her husband Kenneth Melin, daughter Candace Stanley and great-grandson Hayden Staggs.
