Leona Leapaldt, 82, died Friday, May 10, 2019 in Sheyenne Crossings in West Fargo.
Leona was born on August 20, 1936 to Fred and Agnes Koenig at the farm home near Woodworth, ND. She was baptized September 13, 1936 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church and confirmed August 13, 1950. She attended school at Woodworth, ND.
She attended Valley City College and she taught two years at a county school in Gerber Township.
On June 15, 1957 she married Edgar Leapaldt and they were married 61 loving years. He passed away June 23, 2018. They were blessed with three daughters.
She worked for 21 years at the Commission on Aging, volunteered for M.O.W, Sanford, and Rosewood. She was active in Bible class and circle.
Leona is survived by her daughters, Peggy (DuWayne) Tommeraus, Karen (Steve) McCann and Connie (Kent) Mosier; her eight grandkyds, Josh (Julie), Justin, Joey, Zach, Michelle, Brian, Amber, and Andrew; and four great-grandkyds Rylen, Abram, Henry, and Savannah.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, grandson, Michael, brothers, Robert and Roger, and sister, Jean.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to Hospice of the Red River Valley or Immanuel Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND.
