Obituary

On April 17, 2018 our beloved angel, Kathie Durben got her wings.

Thoughts of mother, daughter, sister, wife, grandparent and friend to so many.

Kathie Jane Raymond was born March 12, 1951 in Grand Forks, ND to Merritt and Virginia (Cooper) Raymond. She was raised in many towns and homes as her father was transferred from place to place with his job - Grand Forks, Sioux Falls, and Minneapolis.

While in Minneapolis, she attended Edina schools and St. Margarets High School maturing into a beautiful young woman.

Kathie finished school in Fargo, ND where she met and made many life-long friends, especially Chelly, who remained alongside her through thick and thin, good times and rough times, helping Kathie right to the end.

Kathie loved cooking and picked up a lot of her mother's recipes, especially Maryland-Style Southern-Fried Chicken. She loved exchanging recipes with her sisters. Other things Kathie loved were a tidy, well-decorated home and her pets, especially her beloved Maddie. She was dedicated to her daughters and family, and she stood by her parents, caring for them into their later years. She loved her many friends and also loved clothes and was a fashionable diva.

Kathie lived an extraordinary life. A veteran having served her country, a commandeer of an over-the-road eighteen-wheeler, and spending time with her daughters and grandchildren. She had a curious mind and enjoyed reading, music, and decorating her home.

We remember her smile, laugh, and sense of humor.

A life well-lived, a mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed.

Mom, we will love you forever times infinity.

Kathie is survived by her daughters, Milissa (David) Rosenau, Spokane, WA; Jennifer (Danny) Cole, Winter Garden, FL; grandchildren, Ashleigh, Jaxon and Noah; sisters, Patti (Doug) Barber and Robin (Bryan) Kowalski; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Susan Rise; and niece, Kelly Barber Linert.
