Joyce Meyer, 84, of Fargo, ND, died Friday, October 11, 2019 at The Meadows in Fargo, ND.

Joyce LaMaie Russell was born October 30, 1934 in New York Mills, MN to Joel and Grace (Reynolds) Russell. She grew up near Hewitt, MN on the family farm. She attended Seventh Day Adventist School and attended Union College in Lincoln, NE before graduating from Wahpeton State School of Science as an LPN. She worked as an LPN for about 14 years in Detroit Lakes, MN, Villa Maria in Fargo and the VA in Fargo before retiring.

Joyce married Vernon Meyer on July 27, 1974 at Detroit Lakes, MN. Vernon died in 1993.

Joyce is survived by her son, Danny Lee Hagan, Fargo, ND; and one sister, Arlene (Don) Christianson, Gentry, AK.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Marielda Russell; and brother, Gene Russell.

Funeral Service: 1pm, Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND with a visitation one hour prior.

Burial: Milnor Lutheran Cemetery, Milnor, ND.

Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers to Hospice of the Red River Valley or AWR.
