John R. Loos, 78, of Fargo, ND, died Friday, October 21, 2011, at Sanford Medical Center Palliative Care Unit, Fargo, ND. John was born May 25, 1933 in Grafton, ND, the son of John “Jack” Edward and Octavia Geston Loos. He graduated from Grafton High School and attended Wahpeton State School of Science. On October 26, 1952, he married Marjorie Holt. John worked as an electrician while they made their homes in Grafton, ND, Jamestown, ND and Detroit Lakes, MN. He worked at Tompt Engineering in Fargo, as an Electrical Draftsman for several years before founding Fargo Electric Construction in 1967. He retired in 1989. After retiring, he worked part time as an electrical inspector for the City of Fargo. He enjoyed spending time with his family, at the lake and golfing. John is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marjorie; three children, Janel (Keith) Wanttaja, Tom (Deb) Loos, and Rob (Shelly) Loos; brother, Dennis (Jackie) Loos; two sisters, Nancy (Doc) Blanchard and Linda (Frank) McCann; eight grandchildren, Todd (Cari) Wanttaja, Lori (Jeff) Halvorson, Rosie Wanttaja, Jason ( Moriah) Loos, Joshua (Tara) Loos, Amy Loos, Christine (Josh) Seeger, and Cory Loos. He was preceded in death by his parents and a great grand daughter. Funeral: 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at Hope Lutheran Church, North Campus, Fargo. Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
