JoAnn Mae Evanson was born on July 7, 1933 in Hatton, ND to Iver and Helen Evanson. They moved to Fargo, ND in 1940, where she attended school and graduated from Central High School. She was married to Carl Schulz and they had four children.

JoAnn worked many jobs including J.C. Penney, C&C Market, Northern Freight Sales, Steiger Tractor and Red River Commodities.

JoAnn loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with all her heart and countless good times were spent with them as well as with many of her friends. She especially loved spending time at the lake with family and friends where many, many wonderful memories were made!

JoAnn passed away Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Ecumen Detroit Lakes in Detroit Lakes, MN.

She is survived by her four children: daughter, Shelly Christianson; sons, Jan, Halstad, MN, Jack (Betty), Bismarck, ND; Chris (Tina), Park Rapids, MN; 11 grandchildren: Jon, Toby, Genise, Kiara, Andreah, Joe, Nicholas, Jacob (Aundrea), Noah, Katelyn, and Emily; six great-grandchildren: Paige, Grace, Naveah, Paisley, Ava Jo, and Chase; sister: Delphine Neubauer, Fargo, ND; sisters-in-law, Karen Evanson and Darlene Evanson; many nieces and nephews; lifelong best friend, Betty Christianson and special neighbors, Ron and Devonne Markwardt.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Mary; brothers, Richard and Wallace; son-in-law, Lyle Christianson, and other in-laws including, Robert Neubauer, Odin and Delores Hanson, Wallace Schulz, Margaret Schulz and Richard Schulz.

She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
