Irene Rosella Muhle Hiltwein was born August 16, 1920 to Oscar and Minnie “Helseth” Muhle in Glyndon, MN and attended school there.

Irene married John Hiltwein in October 1937. They were married sixty years. John passed away in 1998.

Irene was a wonderful home maker, very busy with four children. She was a great cook and baker. She also played the piano by ear. Her faith and family were important to her.

Irene passed away on Thursday, February 6 at Minnesota Health Center in Moorhead, MN.

Irene is survived by her children; Ronald of Hawley, MN, Carol (Dale) of Dilworth, MN, Derald (Willa) of West Fargo, ND, and Dale of Mapleton, ND. Seventeen grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John, daughter-in-law, Cindy, grandson, Del and eleven siblings.
