Drew Patzner, beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, and cousin passed away on July 15, 2022, at the age of 20, with his parents by his side in St. Paul, Minnesota, at Gillette Children's Hospital.
From the moment Drew came crashing into this world, he had our hearts and the admiration of so many who knew him. Drew had the strength of a warrior and the brightest smile, a smile that he gifted us up until his last breath.

Drew was born 2 ½ months early on June 29, 2002, in Littleton, Colorado. Throughout his life, he faced more challenges than any one person should ever have to endure, but that didn’t limit him or define him. Drew was so happy. He loved speed and adventure. Drew would flash that million-dollar smile, fist pump his arm in the air and squeal with joy. There wasn’t much Drew didn’t do. He loved racing in track meets with his dad sprinting him down the track, participating in intense wheelchair soccer games, bowling with his Hope Inc. friends, faithfully attending West Fargo High basketball games with his dad, and most of all, roller coaster rides and character visits at Disney. In fact, Drew loved life so much that a trip to Hornbacher’s to sample donuts or cruise Costco was fun. He made everything enjoyable when in his presence. The entire world stopped to watch Drew smile. A smile that we will miss more than words can say.

Drew will be forever missed by his parents, Brenda and Andy, his brother Matthew, his grandmother Joan Ticknor, his Uncle Kevin and Auntie Kristen, his Auntie Donna, and cousins Aidan, Jace, Terry (Megan), and Max (Bethany). Drew was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Roy Ticknor, paternal grandparents, Lorraine Patzner and Robert Patzner, and uncle, Terry Patzner.

A prayer service will be held on Monday, July 25, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral home. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home.
